L-Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid which means that although it is produced by the body, additional sources are also required. L-Arginine is found in meat, poultry, fish and peanuts.
It is important for wound healing, detoxification, immune functions, and the production of growth hormones and nitric oxide (NO).  

Most of the beneficial actions of Arginine are attributed to the Nitric Oxide (NO or ADNO) produced when it is metabolised. The NO acts as a messenger to the immune system, and causes relaxation of the smooth muscles of the blood vessels causing an increase in blood circulation.
